In New Jersey, where one in four residents are immigrants, it’s hardly surprising that there would be “on the ground” forces at work. In Morris County, for example, a small nonprofit, RAMP, aims to do what New York is doing on a lesser scale.

Household items needed for a new refugee family
RAMP will be welcoming a new refugee family to an apartment in Dover, NJ. Our Apartment Team has been hard at work cleaning and furnishing the apartment and is now ready to add all of the necessities to turn it into a home.
Donations should be received by Friday, November 15th so volunteers have the items in time to setup the apartment before the family arrives.

Max (14) and Luna (16) from our first RAMP family became U.S. citizens at a ceremony on Jan 27, 2024. Their mother, Duha K., who is also a U.S. citizen, stands proudly by her two youngest children.

Hussain, his wife, Arifa, and their three children were settled in Boonton after fleeing the Taliban. Sponsorship from one of the refugee agencies had expired after a few months and RAMP was able to step up to provide additional services that improved the family's foundation for independence and job stability.

Student Leads Fundraiser
Villa Walsh student, Ines Lemee, leads a fundraiser to raise money for RAMP. An impassioned RAMP volunteer, along with her mother, Ines felt strongly about sharing the stories of refugee resettlement. After an assembly, Villa Walsh created a fundraiser that contributed over $900 to RAMP.
